Case Study
Extending the growing season in Yasin Valley
Alpine Agro is supporting farmers in adopting greenhouse farming to extend the growing season, improve production conditions and strengthen household and local food security.
In high-altitude valleys such as Yasin, the open-field season is short and harsh weather can wipe out a crop. Protected cultivation lets farmers like Saleem Khan grow vegetables and herbs for more months of the year, improve quality, and sell into local markets when fresh produce is scarce.
